Is the beta really free?
Yes — the whole app, no card, until launch on November 11, 2026. Open it and drive. The waitlist is just how you lock the founding rate for later.
What does Free actually include?
The parts you'd tell a friend about: Point mode's glowing beam, Hot & Cold, every Road Cred badge, the full stops catalog to browse, three Crowpilot trip plans a month, and real turn-by-turn navigation. Free is the product, not a demo of it.
Why "no stop limits"?
Some planners cap free trips at seven waypoints and sell you the eighth. We think that's a resentment machine — a road trip is not a spreadsheet row. Every PointMe plan, free or paid, takes as many stops as your trip needs. Pro sells planning leverage and offline reliability, never your eighth stop back.
What's a Trip Pass?
Seven days of everything in Pro, $4.99, no subscription. It exists because road trips are episodic — if you drive twice a year, an annual plan is the wrong shape. Buy one for the big August drive; if you upgrade to annual within 30 days, the $4.99 counts as credit.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Subscriptions run through the app store, cancel in two taps, and you keep Pro until the period you paid for ends. No retention flows, no "are you sure" gauntlet. And we'll remind you before you renew — we hate quietly re-billing people who forgot they signed up, so we won't do it to you.
What about refunds?
Purchases go through the App Store or Google Play, so the refund itself is issued by the store: request it from Apple or Google — usually a two-minute form. Apple and Google make the final call on their side, not us.
That said: if your Trip Pass week fell apart, you got double-charged, or something just isn't right, email hello@pointmemap.com and we'll do everything in our power to make it right. We'd rather refund a trip than keep an unhappy road-tripper's $4.99.
What happens to the founding rate?
$29.99/yr is the launch price for early believers; the list price is $39.99. If you join at the founding rate, you keep it for as long as you stay subscribed — it never steps up on you.
What's Founders Lifetime?
$99 once, everything in Pro forever, and a Founders badge on your Road Cred. Exactly 500 will ever exist — the counter is public — and the money funds the launch of an independent, solo-built app. It opens on launch day; the waitlist gets first crack.
